A sim racing cockpit with a shifter and handbrake is more than a frame with two extra levers. You need a seat, the right mounting option, steering hardware and pedals that suit how you want to drive. Planning those choices together helps you avoid a nearly finished rig waiting for one overlooked component.
For a dedicated PC drift setup, our recommended build starts with the SIMGASM Sport cockpit, a Core Recline seat and a MOZA R9 V3 wheelbase. Use the checklist below to turn that starting point into a complete shopping list.

1. Choose the chassis around the space you have
The SIMGASM Club uses 40 × 80 mm profiles and has listed chassis dimensions of 500 mm wide × 1,350 mm long × 620 mm high. The Sport uses 40 × 120 mm profiles and measures 580 × 1,320 × 720 mm in the same order. Sport also includes cable passthroughs.
Measure the usable area beside the cockpit as well as the main frame footprint. Your handbrake, shifter, seat movement and route into the seat need additional room. We favour Sport for this build when space permits; Club is an alternative when the narrower chassis suits your room better.
2. Choose your sim racing seat before finalising the controls
The Core Recline racing simulator seat lets you adjust the backrest angle. Choose it if you want flexibility when finding your driving position. The Core Bucket provides a fixed driving backrest; its folding function is for storage, not driving-angle adjustment.
Consider the SIMGASM dual-locking seat slider set if you want to adjust the seat's fore-and-aft position. Check the selected seat's mounting requirements when assembling your basket. 3. Order the mount option for both devices
Select the SIMGASM Shifter & Handbrake Mount with both plates for this build. The cockpit already has its side support arm; this selection provides the mounting plates for the two controls. It does not include a handbrake or shifter.
Before tightening the final positions, sit normally and check that you can reach both handles without lifting your shoulder or leaning away from the seat. 4. Pick the handbrake and the way you want to shift
Add the MOZA HBP sim racing handbrake, then choose between the MOZA HGP H-pattern shifter, with seven forward gears and reverse, and the MOZA SGP sequential shifter. The HGP suits drivers who want to select gears through an H-pattern gate; the SGP suits those who prefer sequential upshifts and downshifts.
A physical clutch pedal is a separate decision from owning a shifter. Plan it around your preferred driving style and the game's control options, then verify the selected pedal package includes it.
5. Complete the steering and pedal package
Our starting choice is the 9 Nm MOZA R9 V3 with the round MOZA CS V2P wheel and a separate pedal set, such as the MOZA CRP2 pedals. Select the cockpit wheel mount that matches your wheelbase.
