How do you mount T598 pedals on a cockpit in 2026?

You mount the T598 pedals by bolting the metal base of the Raceline Pedals LTE to the pedal deck of your cockpit. Line up the holes in the pedal base with the deck, fix them with bolts and T nuts, and then set the distance and angle to your legs. On an aluminium profile cockpit, the T nuts slide along the slot, so you match almost any hole spacing without drilling.

This guide walks you through the setup in plain steps. It also covers what to plan for in 2026, now that many T598 owners add a third load cell pedal.

What pedals come with the T598?

The T598 ships with a metal pedal set with two pedals.

Raceline Pedals LTE in short

Thrustmaster calls them Raceline Pedals LTE, which stands for Long Term Evolution. The set has a throttle and a brake with H.E.A.R.T. magnetic sensors for accuracy and a long life. You change the feel with the included springs and three adjustment notches behind each pedal. Non slip pads keep the set steady on the floor.

Why the floor is not enough

Non slip pads work for gentle braking. Once you brake hard, your leg pushes the set forward and your seat backward. On a pedal deck, the pedals stay exactly where you put them. Your braking point becomes repeatable, lap after lap.

How do you bolt the pedals to a pedal deck?

The job takes about fifteen minutes and only basic tools.

Step 1: place and mark

Sit in the seat with your shoes on. Put the pedal set on the deck and move it until your heel rests comfortably below the brake. Look at where the holes in the pedal base meet the deck.

Step 2: slide the T nuts

Slide T nuts into the profile slots of the deck, right under the holes. Owners on Reddit report that the Raceline base has holes ready for mounting, so drilling is rarely needed. Insert the bolts through the pedal base, hand tighten them, check the position again and then tighten firmly. Our guide on bolts and T nuts on an aluminium rig explains the sizes.

Step 3: route the cable

Run the pedal cable along the profile and clip it in place. A loose cable under your heel gets pinched and damaged sooner or later.

What distance and angle work best?

Comfort and control come from the right knee bend, not from the pedals alone.

Knee bend and heel point

With the brake fully pressed, your knee stays slightly bent. A locked knee hurts after a while and gives less control. SIMGASM treats seating position, wheel angle and pedal geometry as performance and endurance factors, not cosmetic details. Founder Johan Akkerman learned this in real racing, where he won the DNRT BMW E30 Cup championship in 2023 and 2024. Tall or heavy? Check which sim racing cockpit suits your height and weight.

Pedal face angle

Tilt the deck so the pedal faces sit at a natural angle to your feet. In a GT position, the angle is usually flatter. In a formula position, the pedals point more upward. Small changes make a big difference, so test a few laps after every adjustment.

What should you plan for in 2026?

More T598 owners now upgrade the brake, and that changes the load on the deck.

A third load cell pedal

Thrustmaster designed the Raceline Pedals LTE to take a third load cell pedal through its Raceline Pedals Upgrade Kit. A load cell measures pressure instead of travel, so you brake with force, like in a real car. That force goes straight into the pedal deck. Our brake pedal elastomer and travel tuning guide helps you dial in the feel.

Check the rated braking load

The SIMGASM Hobby has a rated braking load of 150 kg at the pedal deck, which leaves plenty of room for a T598 load cell. Plan to move to much heavier pedals later? The Club raises that rating to 200 kg. You find both routes on our cockpit for the Thrustmaster T598 page, and every option in our aluminium sim rig range.

Quick answers about T598 pedals

These short answers cover the most common pedal questions.

Do the T598 pedals fit a SIMGASM cockpit?

Yes. They bolt to the pedal deck with bolts and T nuts that slide in the aluminium profile.

Should I remove the non slip pads?

Only if they stop the base from sitting flat on the deck. A flat base keeps the bolts from bending.

Which brake spring should I use on a cockpit?

Start with the firmest spring you still like. On a fixed deck, a firmer brake feels more precise.

Where do I mount the wheelbase?

Bolt it straight to the wheel deck. Read should you use the T598 base plate on a cockpit for the details.
