Wheel rotation speed in SimPro Manager sets how fast the Simagic motor is allowed to spin the rim. At 100 percent there is no limit. Lower values act like a speed governor: the wheel still has full strength, but it cannot whip around as fast. In Forza Horizon 6 that matters most for two things: calming a wheel that oscillates on straights, and keeping drift countersteer fast enough to catch slides.
So think of it as a safety and comfort setting, not a strength setting. Set it too low and the wheel feels lazy. Set it too high and the rim snaps and shakes when you loosen your grip.
How does wheel rotation speed work?
To understand the setting, it helps to look at what a direct drive motor does when you let go.
A limit on speed, not on force
A direct drive base like the Alpha EVO uses a low inertia servo motor. Low inertia means the rim reacts very fast to every force from the game. That is great for detail. But when the game asks the wheel to spin back to center, nothing slows it down except your hands. Wheel rotation speed puts a ceiling on that spin. The force stays the same, the top speed of the rim drops.
How it differs from the mechanical damper
The mechanical damper adds resistance that grows with speed, so it is always there, also in slow corners. Wheel rotation speed only steps in when the rim moves fast. That is why many drivers prefer a moderate rotation speed with a small damper over a big damper alone: the car stays light in slow turns, and fast snaps get tamed.

Why does it matter so much in Forza Horizon 6?
FH6 mixes calm road driving with violent slides, so one setting has to cover both.
Oscillation on straights
On open roads at high speed, a light grip lets the wheel swing left and right by itself. That is oscillation. It happens more on strong bases such as the 18 Nm Alpha EVO Pro. Lowering rotation speed in small steps is the cleanest fix, and our Simagic FH6 settings guide gives it as the first tip: reduce wheel rotation speed slightly and add a small damper.
Drift and quick saves
Drifting needs the opposite. When the rear steps out, the self aligning force spins the rim fast toward opposite lock. If rotation speed is too low, the wheel arrives late and the car spins. That is why drift builds often run a shorter rotation of 540 to 720 degrees and a higher rotation speed. Our guide to FH6 drift settings and handbrake practice goes deeper on that side.

What values should you start with?
There is no single magic number, and community values range from about 15 to 50 percent depending on the game and the base.
Road and mixed driving
For road racing and free roam, start around 50 percent with a small mechanical damper. Drive a fast straight with a relaxed grip. If the wheel still swings, lower the value by 10 and test again. Stop as soon as the swing is gone, because lower values cost you feel in quick direction changes.
Drift and rally
For drift, start higher, around 70 to 100 percent, and use your hands to control the rim. Rally on loose surfaces sits in between. Save each one as a separate profile, so you switch with one click. Remember that steering angle also plays a role here, and the steering angle and wheel rotation guide explains how both work together.
One change at a time
Change rotation speed, test on the same route, then decide. Johan Akkerman, our CEO, raced at world level in esports before he won real championships in the DNRT BMW E30 Cup. His rule is the same in both worlds: one change, one test, one conclusion.

Does your cockpit change how this setting feels?
Yes, because a moving base adds its own oscillation on top of the wheel.
When the rig flexes, the base rocks a little with every snap. That small movement feeds back into the rim, and you end up lowering rotation speed further than needed. On a stiff aluminium profile frame you keep more speed and more detail. For bases above 16 Nm, SIMGASM advises the Club with its 40 x 80 mm profile, which covers wheelbases up to and including 26 Nm. Johan races on a SIMGASM Sport himself, with a 40 x 120 mm main profile, VR and motion. Compare all frames in our sim racing cockpit range and match one to your base.
Questions about Simagic wheel rotation speed
These short answers cover what drivers ask most about this setting.
Is 100 percent wheel rotation speed bad?
Not bad, just unfiltered. It suits drift and drivers who keep a firm grip. Most road drivers prefer a lower value.
Does wheel rotation speed reduce detail?
Only at low values. Small road texture moves slowly, so a moderate setting keeps it intact.
Should I use the damper or rotation speed?
Use rotation speed for fast snaps and a small damper for general calm. Both together give the cleanest result.
Where do I find a full FH6 profile?
