Do you need Simagic pedals for FH6 in 2026?

Do you need Simagic pedals for FH6 in 2026?

No, you do not need Simagic pedals for Forza Horizon 6, but they make life easier. Pedals that plug into your Simagic wheelbase show up as one device together with the base, so FH6 keeps force feedback on the right device. Pedals from another brand work too, as long as you bind the wheelbase first and add the pedals after. The bigger upgrade for FH6 is a load cell brake, whatever the brand.

So the real question is not only which logo sits on the pedals. It is how they connect, how the brake feels and how solid they are mounted.

Why do pedals matter for FH6 setup?

Pedals affect two things in FH6: how the game detects your devices and how well you control speed.

One ecosystem, fewer devices

FH6 sends force feedback to the first steering device in the Windows list. Every extra USB device adds a chance that your base slips to number 2. Simagic pedals that connect to the base avoid that problem. Third party pedals with their own USB cable are a second device. That is fine, but you need the right plug order, explained in how to make your Simagic device 1 in FH6.

Mixed setups that work

Many drivers run a Simagic base with pedals from MOZA, Fanatec or another brand. Start FH6 with only the base, bind steering, then plug in the pedals and bind throttle, brake and clutch. If pedals act inverted on Steam, remap the axes in the game before you blame the hardware.

What makes a good FH6 pedal set?

For FH6 the brake matters most, because you brake hard into hairpins and soft into fast sweepers.

Load cell brake versus potentiometer

A potentiometer brake reads how far the pedal moves. A load cell brake reads how hard you push. Your leg remembers pressure far better than travel, so a load cell gives more repeatable stops. This is the single biggest upgrade from a basic pedal set, in FH6 and every other racing game.

Simagic options in plain numbers

The Simagic P500 uses a 100 kg load cell brake, Hall sensors and 4,096 step resolution, with adjustable position, angle and stiffness. The P700 is a two pedal set with a 150 kg load cell and a dual sensor design for heavy braking. The P1000 RS adds a clutch, which helps if you drive manual with an H pattern shifter in FH6. Our Simagic P1000 pedal setup guide covers calibration step by step.

How do you set up pedals for Forza Horizon 6?

A few minutes of setup save hours of frustration on the road.

Calibrate and set deadzones

Calibrate the pedals in SimPro Manager first. Then check the in game deadzones in FH6. A small inside deadzone on the brake stops ghost braking when your foot rests on the pedal. Keep the outside deadzone low so you reach full brake without standing on the pedal.

Set brake force for long sessions

FH6 sessions often last hours. Set the load cell so full braking needs firm but not tiring pressure. Johan Akkerman, our CEO, races in real cars and won the DNRT BMW E30 Cup and Endurance Series in 2023 and 2024. He treats pedal geometry as a performance and endurance factor, not a detail, and that view shapes every SIMGASM cockpit.

Does your cockpit decide how good the pedals feel?

Yes, because a load cell brake only works when the pedal plate does not move.

Push 100 kg into a pedal on a light stand and the plate bends. Your brain then mixes pedal travel with frame flex, and the load cell loses its main advantage. On an aluminium profile rig the plate stays put. The SIMGASM Club with its 40 x 80 mm main profile is a strong match for load cell pedals and bases up to 26 Nm. Every SIMGASM product is tested as part of a complete simulator, pedals included, in our home base of Wijk bij Duurstede. Questions about Simagic pedals in FH6

Here are short answers to what drivers ask most about pedals in FH6.

Do non Simagic pedals work with a Simagic base in FH6?

Yes. Bind the wheelbase first, then plug in and bind the other pedals.

Is a load cell brake worth it for FH6?

Yes. It gives more repeatable braking, which helps in races and in drift entries.

Do I need a clutch pedal for FH6?

Only when you drive manual with clutch and an H pattern shifter. Many players use two pedals and paddles.

Why does my brake trigger by itself?

Your foot is resting on it. Add a small inside deadzone in FH6 or in SimPro Manager.
