For the SIMGASM Hobby cockpit, an integrated Core monitor stand suits most racers with one to three monitors up to about 32 inch and a belt, gear or entry level direct drive wheelbase. Choose a freestanding Apex stand when you race with a strong direct drive base, a TV or a heavy super ultrawide. The Core stands match the 40 by 40 mm profile of the Hobby, and the range grows from one screen to three or four.
The Hobby Aluminum Sim Racing Cockpit is the best selling SIMGASM cockpit, and in 2026 many Hobby owners take the next step with a proper screen mount. This guide walks you through every option, from a single screen to a full quad setup.
What makes the Hobby special for a monitor stand?
The Hobby is a compact aluminium profile rig, and its size shapes the right choice of stand.
Compact 40 by 40 mm frame
The Hobby sim racing cockpit uses 40 by 40 mm aluminium profile, has a footprint of 58 by 130 cm and weighs 20.5 kg. That makes it light and easy to fit in a small room. It also means the frame is less stiff than a Club, Sport or Pro, so a strong wheelbase moves it a little more under heavy force feedback.
Three wheelbase mount options
The Hobby is available with a bottom mount, front mount or side mount for the wheelbase. Each option places the wheel at a slightly different height and distance. Check the final wheel position first, because the screen always sits just behind and above the wheelbase.
Integrated Core stands on the Hobby
The Core range is the natural match for a Hobby, because it uses the same 40 by 40 mm profile size.
Single screen
The Core Integrated Single mounts directly to the cockpit and supports VESA 75 and 100, which covers most 24 to 32 inch gaming monitors. It weighs 5.5 kg and keeps the screen close and low, the most important rule for a natural view.

Triple and quad screens
The Core Integrated triple monitor stand includes side arms and turns the Hobby into a full triple setup. If you start with one screen, add the Core side arms later. The Core Top monitor stand then adds a fourth screen above the triples for telemetry or a stream overlay. Read our guide on managing cables on a triple monitor stand once you have three screens on the rig.

When should a Hobby owner choose freestanding?
A freestanding Apex stand makes sense in three clear situations.
Strong direct drive bases
A strong direct drive base sends a lot of force through a compact frame. With an integrated stand, that energy reaches the screens and they shake. A freestanding stand never touches the rig, so the image stays calm. Our guide on monitor shake on a sim rig explains the cause in detail.
TVs and super ultrawides
Large TVs often use VESA 200 by 200 mm, which the Core range does not support. The Apex range adds VESA 200 support and uses stiffer 40 by 80 mm profile. If you plan a big curved screen, read whether a sim rig holds a 49 inch super ultrawide first.
Sharing with a desk
If your screen also serves a desk, only a freestanding stand moves easily between the two. See how one monitor stand serves your desk and sim rig.

Designed together, tested together
The Hobby and the Core stands come from the same design desk, so they fit without improvising.
Founder Johan Akkerman designed and led the development of the complete SIMGASM range, including the 3D designs, prototype evaluation and final inspection of materials. The SIMGASM cockpit range includes patented designs developed around strength, ergonomics and comfort. Every product is refined through prototypes and tested through real sim racing use at the base in Wijk bij Duurstede.

Q&A
These quick answers help Hobby owners decide.
Does the Core Integrated Single fit every Hobby?
The Core range shares the 40 by 40 mm profile of the Hobby. Check the wheelbase mount you use, so the screen clears the wheel.
Can I start with one screen and add triples later?
Yes. Start with the Core Integrated Single and add the Core side arms when you move to three screens.
Do I need a freestanding stand with a direct drive base?
Not always. With an entry level direct drive base, an integrated stand works well. With a strong base, freestanding gives a calmer image.
Does a seat come with the Hobby cockpit?
No. SIMGASM sells seats separately, so you choose the seat that fits you best.
