Fanatec’s tuning menu can look like alphabet soup: SEN, NDP, NFR, NIN, INT, FEI, and more. The good news: you don’t need to touch everything. The best setups usually change only a handful of values—and they change them for a reason.
This guide explains what the most important Fanatec tuning menu items do, how to approach them systematically, and how to avoid the two most common mistakes: “numbing” your wheel and creating oscillation.
The right workflow: change one thing at a time
Before adjusting anything, make sure your cockpit is stable. If your wheel deck flexes or your seat moves under braking, you will misinterpret what you feel. Start with a rigid foundation like SIMGASM Club simulator or SIMGASM Sport simulator and a strong mount such as front wheel mount.
Then follow this workflow:
- Set in-game force feedback to a sensible baseline (avoid clipping).
- Set Fanatec overall strength to a comfortable level.
- Only then adjust detail and “feel” filters.

These are not “magic numbers.” They are starting points that keep the wheel stable while preserving detail. Adjust slowly.
Baseline A: CSL DD and GT DD Pro (5 to 8 Nm)
- SEN: 900 (or AUTO if you prefer per-car steering)
- NDP: 20–30
- NFR: 5–15
- NIN: OFF (or very low if the wheel feels too light)
- INT: 2–4 (lower for more detail, higher for smoother feel)
- FEI: 80–100 (lower if impacts feel too sharp)
Baseline B: ClubSport and Podium wheelbases
- SEN: AUTO (often best when you run multiple sims)
- NDP: 10–20 (enough to prevent oscillation)
- NFR: 0–10
- NIN: OFF (add only if you use a very light rim)
- INT: 1–3
- FEI: 70–90
Two quick fixes for common problems
- Oscillation on straights: add a little NDP, make sure Center Spring in-game is not set too high, and verify your wheel mount is rigid.
- Wheel feels numb: reduce NFR/NIN, lower INT, and check if your in-game force feedback is clipping.
