Even premium cockpits can develop small issues over time: a squeak here, a bolt that loosens there, a seat slider that starts to feel gritty. None of this is a “bad rig” sign—it’s normal mechanical life.
This maintenance checklist is written with RSeat-style steel cockpits in mind, but it applies to any simulator. The goal is simple: keep your rig quiet, solid, and safe.

After assembly (first week) checklist
New rigs settle. Coatings compress slightly, parts seat into position, and bolts can relax.
- Re-torque wheel mount and pedal mount bolts.
- Check seat slider bolts and seat mounts.
- Check monitor stand fasteners if you have an integrated stand.
- Verify that cables have enough slack at full steering lock and full pedal travel.
Monthly cockpit maintenance checklist
1) Re-torque critical bolts
- wheel mount bolts
- pedal plate bolts
- seat mount + slider bolts
- monitor stand bolts (if integrated)
Focus on the parts that see the most force: wheel and pedals. If you run high brake pressures, pedal bolts are usually the first to complain.
2) Hunt squeaks systematically
Squeaks usually come from micro-movement between parts. The fastest way to find them is to apply force where you normally do (push/pull the wheel, press the brake) while listening. Common fixes:
- re-torque and re-seat the joint
- add a thin isolating layer where two parts rub
- route cables so they don’t slap the frame
3) Seat care (comfort stays performance)
Seat comfort affects consistency. Keep rails clean, remove dust, and make sure the seat doesn’t rock under braking. If you use a bucket seat, check side mounts for tightness. If you want a comfort-oriented setup, the Core Recline seat is designed for long sessions without losing the sporty feel.
4) Protect the finish
