Cable management is not the glamorous part of sim racing, but it’s one of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades you can do. A Playseat-friendly cable routing method
1) Group by function
Make three bundles: power, USB/data, and video (DisplayPort/HDMI). Keep power separate from USB where possible to reduce interference.
2) Add service loops at both ends
A service loop is a small, controlled loop of slack that prevents cable tension when you adjust seating position or angle.
3) Anchor cables to fixed points
Don’t let cables hang from connectors. Anchor them to the frame so movement happens in the cable, not in the plug.
4) Put the “brains” in one place
- Mount a USB hub near the wheelbase (short device cables, one long cable to the PC).
- Mount a power strip to one side so you have one power exit point.
- Label both ends of each cable (you’ll thank yourself later).
