SIMGASM Club cockpit: pros and cons in 2026

The SIMGASM Club is a 40x80 aluminium sim racing cockpit that sits between the Hobby and the Sport. Its biggest pros are a deep main profile, a pedal deck rated for 200 kg of braking load, four wheel mount options and a wide choice of colours and liveries. Its main cons: no integrated cable passthroughs, no motion readiness and no seat in the box. For most direct drive and load cell setups, it hits the sweet spot.

Let us walk through every pro and con, so you know exactly what you get before you order.

What is the SIMGASM Club exactly?

A quick look at the specs first, because every pro and con comes back to these numbers.

The SIMGASM Club sim racing cockpit uses a 40x80 mm main profile and measures 500 x 1350 x 620 mm (W x L x H). That is a compact footprint for an aluminium sim rig with this depth of profile. The rated braking load at the pedal deck is 200 kg. The standard SIMGASM warranty is 2 years.

In the range, the Club sits above the Hobby and below the Sport. The Sport moves to a 40x120 profile, a 300 kg rated pedal deck, cable passthroughs and motion readiness.

The pros of the SIMGASM Club

These are the strong points that make the Club the choice for many regular racers.

A deep profile that feels planted

A 40x80 profile is twice as tall as a 40x40 profile. In practice, that means the frame resists bending far better when you stomp the brake or when a strong wheelbase kicks back. One Club owner wrote in his review that he has zero flex with his direct drive wheel and load cell pedals. Another called it very sturdy and perfect for a MOZA R12.

Four wheel mounts for almost every wheelbase

You choose a bottom mount, front mount, side mount or Asetek front mount. The bottom mount covers supported models from Logitech, Fanatec, MOZA, Thrustmaster, SIMAGIC, PXN, Simucube, Asetek and VRS. That makes the Club a safe base when you plan to upgrade your wheelbase later.

Colours and liveries at a fair level

This is where SIMGASM stands out. Founder Johan Akkerman started the company because very few brands made individual colours and race liveries affordable. The Club comes in colours like black, white, purple, red and gold, plus liveries such as RothBros, JPS, MARINI and Aichi.

Designed by a racer who tests complete setups

Johan won the 2019 Project CARS 2 world team championship and later took DNRT BMW E30 Cup titles in 2023 and 2024. Every SIMGASM product is tested as part of a complete simulator, not as a loose part.

The cons of the SIMGASM Club

No cockpit is perfect, so here are the limits you need to know before you buy.

No integrated cable passthroughs

The Club has a compact construction without internal cable routing. You manage cables with ties and clips along the profile slots. It works fine, but it takes a bit more care to get a clean look.

Not built for motion

Motion readiness starts at the Sport. If you plan to add actuators in the next year or two, the bigger profile is the smarter base. Our guide on Club or Sport helps you choose.

Seat, slider and monitor stand are extra

The Club ships as a frame with a wheel mount and the Core shifter and handbrake arm. A seat, a seat slider and a monitor stand are separate. That keeps the base cost low and lets you pick exactly what you want, but you need to budget for it.

Who should buy the Club in 2026?

The answer depends on your wheelbase, your pedals and your plans.

The Club fits racers who drive several times a week with a direct drive base in the common torque range and load cell pedals. It also fits racers who want a personal look without paying for a flagship. Want more room for very strong hardware or motion later? Then look at the Sport or Pro in the full sim racing cockpit range.

Still in doubt? Build it in your head first. Our step by step guide on how to assemble the SIMGASM Club shows how the frame comes together.

Questions about the SIMGASM Club

Here are short answers to the questions we hear most about the Club.

Is the SIMGASM Club good for direct drive?

Yes. Owners use it with direct drive bases such as the MOZA R12 and report no flex. The 40x80 profile gives clear headroom over 40x40 entry rigs.

Does the Club come with a seat?

No. Seats are sold separately in the sim racing seats range, so you choose a bucket or a reclining seat yourself.

What is the biggest difference between Club and Sport?

The Sport uses a 40x120 profile, a 300 kg rated pedal deck, cable passthroughs and motion readiness. The Club stays more compact.

How long is the warranty?

The standard SIMGASM warranty is 2 years.
