View full detailsVRS specifies the DFP20 at 20 Nm peak torque. It does not publish a separate holding-torque figure, so the 20 Nm peak is the value used for cockpit selection. The DFP20's four-pole MiGE motor, 22-bit encoder and separate controller can deliver sharp, unfiltered forces; flex or a loose mounting plate adds unwanted motion to that signal.
Twenty newton metres is inside the SIMGASM over 16 to 26 Nm range. The selected cockpit tier is therefore Club only. Club provides the rated foundation without treating a 20 Nm base as a 27-plus Nm installation. Hobby is excluded because its rule ends at 16 Nm.
Sport and Pro are stronger compatible options. Consider Sport for frequent use near peak force, a large wheel, aggressive load-cell braking or a frame-mounted display. Choose Pro for motion, shared training rigs or a build intended to accept any later wheelbase. Pro is also SIMGASM's guaranteed 100% flex-free recommendation when eliminating movement is more important than buying at the minimum selected tier.
The DFP20 is not the same mounting proposition as the newer integrated DFP15. Verify the MiGE front-flange pattern, shaft clearance and fastener specification against the chosen front mount. If using a bottom solution, confirm that the required VRS bracket or adapter is included and rated for the installation. Also reserve a protected, ventilated location for the separate controller and power components, with service loops that keep motor and USB cables free from tension.
