View full detailsPXN rates the VD4 at 5 Nm peak torque. Five newton-metres sits well below the 16 Nm top of SIMGASM's Hobby band, so the Hobby cockpit is the minimum tier selected for this collection.
Hobby gives an entry direct-drive setup a rigid aluminium-profile foundation without requiring a chassis designed around far greater motor output. It fixes the control positions, supports clean accessory mounting and prevents a moving desk from masking the small forces that make direct drive worthwhile.
A cockpit frequently outlives the first wheelbase installed on it. For that reason, the stronger Club, Sport and Pro are compatible with the VD4 even though Hobby meets its current rating. Club becomes attractive when a stiff load-cell brake, frequent maximum-force driving or a near-term wheelbase upgrade is part of the plan. That next tier is our longevity choice and SIMGASM's guaranteed 100% flex-free platform recommendation at full VD4 output.
Identify whether the purchase is a VD4 base or a particular VD4 bundle and confirm the wheelbase itself has the mounting layout shown in PXN's current instructions. Check hole spacing, thread type, bolt-depth limit and clearance for the housing and cable sockets. Then select the SIMGASM mount variant that explicitly matches those details. Do not infer interchangeability from another VD-series product, and verify the bundled pedals or shifter on their own mounting pages.
This keeps the collection centred on the official 5 Nm peak while offering a clear route from a compact Hobby build to a more ambitious Club, Sport or Pro simulator.
