Simagic wheelbase settings guide for iRacing and ACC

Simagic wheelbases are popular because they deliver clean detail without feeling “digital”. But the best Simagic setup is not just a software profile. It is a whole chain: wheelbase → mount → cockpit rigidity → seating position → monitor and FOV.

This guide gives you baseline settings you can copy as a starting point, then a simple workflow to refine them for iRacing and Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) without chasing your tail.

Step 1: make sure your mount is not the weak link

Before touching filters, remove flex. If your wheel deck moves under load, the force feedback signal gets “blurred” and you will compensate by turning the wheelbase up until it feels heavy, not detailed.

Step 2: choose a clean “baseline” in SimPro Manager

Different Simagic models have different max torque, but the tuning logic is the same: keep the wheelbase stable, keep filters light, and let the sim provide the detail.

Baseline profile (starting point):

Tip: If you feel oscillation on the straight, increase damper slightly before adding heavy smoothing. Smoothing can hide the very detail you bought a direct drive wheel for.

Step 3: iRacing settings that work with Simagic

In iRacing, the key is setting the correct wheel force and then choosing a strength that does not clip in your fastest corners.

  1. Calibrate wheel and pedals first (especially if you changed steering angle).
  2. Set Wheel force to match your wheelbase max torque (example: 12 Nm wheelbase → 12 Nm wheel force).
  3. Use iRacing’s auto FFB as a start, then reduce 5–15% if you see frequent clipping.
  4. Keep iRacing’s extra damping minimal; do stability in SimPro Manager.

Step 4: ACC settings for a detailed but calm wheel

ACC can feel “busy” if your base is too sharp. Your goal is clear tyre load, not extra road noise.

  • Gain: start around 60–75 and adjust down if you clip.
  • Minimum force: usually 0 on direct drive.
  • Dynamic damping: keep low; let the wheelbase do the damping.
  • Road effects: low (0–10) so kerbs do not drown out grip detail.

Common problems and fast fixes

  • Oscillation on straights: add 3–5% damper, reduce in game strength slightly, check that your rig does not flex.
  • Feels heavy but not detailed: reduce friction/inertia, reduce smoothing, lower gain and increase wheelbase headroom.
  • Kerbs feel like a jackhammer: reduce road effects and reduce overall gain before adding filters.
