Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) can feel incredible on direct drive, but it’s also easy to make it feel heavy, harsh, or “dead” if you run too much gain or too much damping. With an Asetek wheelbase, you have enough detail that you can keep the setup clean and still feel everything you need.
This guide gives you a safe baseline and, more importantly, a method to tune ACC without losing tyre detail.
Start with a clean baseline (then tune one thing at a time)
Use this as a starting point in ACC:

Important: these numbers are a baseline, not a universal truth. Your wheelbase strength, your rig rigidity, and even your seat posture change what feels “right”.
The ACC method: tune for tyre load, not for kerb drama
Fast ACC driving is mostly about reading tyre load changes. Your wheel should tell you:
- when the front tyres load up in long corners,
- when the front is starting to wash wide (early understeer),
- when kerb hits will destabilize the rear.
If your wheel mainly tells you “BANG” over kerbs, lower gain and reduce effects. If the wheel is smooth and you can feel tyre load in a long corner, you’re on the right track.
How to check clipping in ACC
Watch the force feedback meter. If it’s red all the time, you’re clipping and masking detail. Reduce gain until only the biggest hits flirt with the limit.

Why your cockpit changes ACC feel more than you think
ACC’s tyre load detail lives in small steering changes. On a flexible rig, those micro-forces get absorbed. Many people respond by increasing damping or gain, which makes the wheel heavier but not necessarily better.
A rigid, adjustable cockpit lets you keep filters low and detail high:
