Asetek pedals can feel “professional” or “annoying” depending on one thing: how you mount and brace them. Most pedal complaints are not about the load cell. They are about posture, heel support, and pedal deck stiffness.

This guide is a practical mounting and setup workflow that works for both Asetek La Prima pedals and Asetek Forte S-Series pedals.
Step 1: make the cockpit stable under braking
Before you touch software settings, do this physical checklist:
- Seat doesn’t move: a solid seat mount and a stable seating position.
- Heel support is fixed: your heel should not slide on carpet.
- Pedal platform doesn’t flex: if it flexes, your “brake pressure” becomes inconsistent.

Step 2: set your heel brace and pedal angle
Heel support is the simplest “free lap time” upgrade. A stable brace lets you modulate pressure without shaking your leg.
- Add SIMGASM heelrest for a simple stable brace point.

Now set pedal angle. A good starting point:
- GT seating: moderate pedal angle, knees slightly bent, ankle comfortable.
- Formula seating: higher legs, more reclined seat, pedal face more “vertical” relative to your feet.
Don’t copy someone else’s angle. Your ankle mobility and seat height change what feels right.
Step 3: choose brake travel vs stiffness (without overthinking)
Braking consistency comes from repeatable pressure. You want:
- a strong initial bite (fast to 70–80%),
- a controllable release (trail braking),
- no “knee shake” or cramping after 20 minutes.
If the brake feels too stiff and you get shaky, add a little more travel (or adjust seating so you can use your leg instead of only your ankle). If it feels too long and vague, reduce travel gradually.

Step 4: calibration tips that actually help
- Calibrate at your real maximum: don’t set max force to a “theoretical” number you’ll never hit in a race.
- Consistency beats strength: you’d rather hit 90% consistently than 100% once in a while.
- Re-check after posture changes: if you move your seat or pedals, recalibrate.
