The SIMGASM Hobby fits most popular wheelbases of 2026, as long as they stay at or below 16 Nm and use a supported mounting pattern. You pick one of four wheel mounts at checkout. The Bottom Mount covers Logitech, Fanatec, MOZA Racing, Thrustmaster, Simagic, PXN, Simucube, Asetek, VRS, Conspit and Sim Lab. The Front Mount covers Simucube, VRS and Sim Lab, the Side Mount covers Fanatec, MOZA Racing, Simagic, Conspit and Sim Lab, and the Asetek Front Mount is made for Asetek bases.
Below we explain the two checks that decide the fit, which mount suits which brand and how well popular 2026 wheelbases match the Hobby aluminium range. So you order the right mount the first time.
Two checks before you pick a wheelbase
Every wheelbase must pass a torque check and a mounting check before it suits the Hobby.
Torque: the 16 Nm guidance
SIMGASM advises the Hobby for wheelbases up to and including 16 Nm. Torque is the twisting force the base sends through the wheel. More torque means more force on the wheel mount and the uprights. The Hobby uses a 40x40 mm main profile, which is strong for this range and keeps the frame compact. Above 16 Nm, a thicker profile gives you more reserve.
Mounting pattern: the mount decides the fit
Each brand uses its own bolt pattern. Some bases bolt from below, others from the front or the sides. That is why the Hobby offers four different wheel mounts. Torque tells you if the frame is strong enough. The mount tells you if the base physically bolts on. Both must be right. If you are unsure which type you need, our guide on bottom, front or side wheel mounts explains the differences in plain words.

Which mount fits which brand?
This overview follows the compatibility list on the Hobby product page.
Bottom Mount: the widest choice
The Bottom Mount is a flat plate where the base bolts on from underneath. It covers supported patterns from Logitech, Fanatec, MOZA Racing, Thrustmaster, Simagic, PXN, Simucube, Asetek, VRS, Conspit and Sim Lab. If you plan to switch brands later, this is often the safest pick, because so many bases bolt on this way.
Front Mount for Simucube, VRS and Sim Lab
The regular Front Mount holds the base by its front face. It suits supported Simucube, VRS and Sim Lab front patterns. Note one clear rule from SIMGASM: the regular Front Mount does not fit any Simagic wheelbase.
Side Mount for Fanatec, MOZA, Simagic, Conspit and Sim Lab
The Side Mount clamps the base from both sides. It gives a clean look and a very direct connection. It covers supported Fanatec, MOZA Racing, Simagic, Conspit and Sim Lab models.
Asetek Front Mount
Asetek uses its own front pattern, so SIMGASM made a dedicated Asetek Front Mount for supported Asetek models.
Always check your exact model in the live selector and the model table on the product page before you order. A brand on this list does not mean every model of that brand fits every mount.

Popular 2026 wheelbases on a Hobby
Here is how common bases compare with the 16 Nm guidance, based on the torque each maker publishes.
Logitech: G923, RS50 and G Pro
The gear driven G923 gives about 2.3 Nm, the RS50 direct drive base gives 8 Nm and the G Pro gives 11 Nm. All three sit well inside the Hobby range and use the Bottom Mount.
MOZA Racing: R5 up to R16
The R5 (5.5 Nm), R9 (9 Nm), R12 (12 Nm) and R16 (16 Nm) all fit within the guidance. The R16 sits right at the limit. The R21 and R25 are above it, so they belong on a thicker frame. Running an R5 now? Our guide on the best cockpit for a MOZA R5 goes deeper.
Fanatec: CSL DD up to ClubSport DD+
The CSL DD gives 5 Nm, or 8 Nm with the boost kit. The ClubSport DD gives 12 Nm and the ClubSport DD+ gives 15 Nm. All of these fall within the Hobby range. Fanatec bases use the Bottom Mount or the Side Mount, depending on the model.
Simagic, Thrustmaster, Simucube and others
Compact bases from Simagic, Thrustmaster, PXN and Conspit often fall well under 16 Nm. Larger Simucube, VRS and Asetek bases vary a lot in torque, so check the exact figure of your model. If it goes above 16 Nm, look at a bigger frame.
When the Hobby is not the right base
Sometimes the honest advice is to choose a stronger frame from the start.
If you already own a base above 16 Nm, or you plan to buy one soon, the Club is the next step. It uses a 40x80 mm main profile, twice as thick as the Hobby, and has a rated braking load of 200 kg at the pedal deck, against 150 kg on the Hobby. Read Hobby or Club: which aluminium cockpit fits you for a full comparison, and our article is a 40x40 sim racing cockpit strong enough for the technical side.
This advice comes from real testing. Johan Akkerman, founder and product designer of SIMGASM, moved over the years from a Logitech G25 to Fanatec hardware and later to a Simucube 2 base. Through years of racing, product events and exhibitions, he tested a wide range of wheelbases and cockpits. SIMGASM tests every product as part of a complete simulator, which is why the torque guidance is so clear per tier.

Tips for a solid wheel mount
A good mount only works when you install it with care.
Tighten the wheel mount bolts in a cross pattern, so the plate sits flat. Check the bolts again after your first few sessions, because new hardware settles a little. In the assembly guide, the wheel mount and final tightening are the last step, after you square the pedal deck. Do it in that order and the base lines up straight with your seat.
Questions about wheelbases on the Hobby
These are the questions owners ask us most often.
Does the Hobby fit a MOZA R12?
Yes. The R12 gives 12 Nm, which is within the 16 Nm guidance. Choose the Bottom Mount or the Side Mount and check your model in the selector.
Does the Hobby fit a Logitech G923?
Yes. Logitech wheels use the Bottom Mount, and at about 2.3 Nm the G923 is far below the limit.
What if my wheelbase has more than 16 Nm?
Then choose the Club, Sport or Pro. These frames use thicker profiles made for higher torque.
Where do I check my exact model?
On the Hobby product page. The live selector and the model table show which mount fits your base.
