Which SIMGASM Hobby colour or livery suits you?

The best SIMGASM Hobby colour is the one that matches your room, your hardware and the look you want behind the wheel. Black and Silver blend in with almost any gear, White feels bright and clean, and Red, Orange, Gold, Green, Blue and Purple turn the frame into the centre of the room. If you want a true racing look, liveries like MARINI and JPS bring motorsport style. Every version shares the same 40x40 mm frame, so the choice is purely about how you want your setup to look.

In this guide we walk through each colour group, explain what makes the liveries special and share simple tips to match the frame with your seat, wheelbase and screen. So you pick a SIMGASM Hobby that still makes you smile years from now.

Same frame, different look

Before you choose, it helps to know what the colour does and does not change.

Every Hobby version uses the same 40x40 mm main profile, the same overall size of 500 x 1270 x 580 mm and the same rated braking load of 150 kg at the pedal deck. The wheel mounts and the 16 Nm guidance are also identical. So a Gold Hobby drives exactly like a Black one. Our article does the colour of an aluminium rig change anything explains this in more detail. The colour is about style, mood and identity.

Calm colours that match any gear

These colours keep the frame in the background and let your hardware stand out.

Black: quiet and focused

Black is the safe and popular choice. It keeps the frame visually quiet and lets the wheelbase, seat and screen define the look. It works very well when you combine parts from different brands, because a neutral frame makes all the shapes feel like one setup.

Silver: classic aluminium

Silver shows the raw character of aluminium profile. It looks technical and light, and it fits rooms with grey or metal furniture.

White: bright and clean

White makes a compact setup look even smaller and lighter in a room. It is a great pick for bright rooms and for streamers who want a fresh, clean frame on camera.

Bold colours with racing energy

If you want the frame to be the star of the room, these colours deliver.

Red, Orange and Gold

These are the warm racing colours. Red feels classic and fast, Orange brings a strong motorsport vibe and Gold gives a premium touch. Pair them with black peripherals, so the colour stays in charge and the setup does not look busy.

Green, Blue and Purple

These colours stand out without feeling loud. Green links to British racing tradition, Blue looks cool and calm, and Purple is a favourite for gaming rooms with RGB light. A dark seat helps each of them shine.

Liveries for a true racing look

A livery goes one step further than a single colour and turns the frame into a racing design.

MARINI: light base with stripes

The MARINI design uses a light foundation with layered accent bands. The long aluminium profiles give the stripes room to read clearly, both from the side and from the driving seat. Neutral black or silver peripherals keep the focus on the livery.

JPS: black with gold lines

The JPS livery combines a deep black base with controlled gold details for a classic Grand Prix style. Its strength is restraint: the design is easy to recognise but never covers the engineered look of the profiles. Black wheel, seat and screen hardware keep the gold lines clear.

RothBros and Aichi

The Hobby range also includes the RothBros and Aichi liveries, each with its own racing character. Check the collection to see them in full.

Who is behind the colours?

Colour is not an afterthought at SIMGASM, it is one of the reasons the company exists.

Founder Johan Akkerman saw that many brands offered a solid way to mount a wheel and pedals, but very few made individual colours, race liveries, names and numbers available at a realistic price. That idea led to SIMGASM, which started development in January 2026 and was formally registered on 27 February 2026. Michal Nevrela, the personalisation and print specialist of the team, brings more than fifteen years of experience with professional print techniques. He turns artwork, colours, race numbers and full liveries into physical SIMGASM products. His work includes the custom simulator for Romain Monti, which was shown at SRO SpeedWeek at Spa Francorchamps.

Simple tips to pick your colour

Use these quick checks before you order.

First, look at your room. Dark rooms suit Black, Purple or Blue, while bright rooms suit White, Silver or Gold. Second, look at your gear. Most wheelbases and seats are black, so almost every colour works, but a busy livery looks best with plain black parts. Third, think about the future. If you stream or want to present partners, a bold colour or livery makes your setup easy to recognise. Our article can your cockpit help you attract sponsors shows how that works.

Questions about Hobby colours and liveries

Here are quick answers to the most common colour questions.

Does the colour change the strength of the Hobby?

No. Every colour and livery uses the same 40x40 mm frame with the same 150 kg pedal deck rating and 16 Nm guidance.

Which Hobby colour is the most popular?

Black is a common pick because it matches any gear. Bold colours like Red and Orange are popular with drivers who want the frame to stand out.

Which seat colour fits a livery?

A plain dark seat works best. It keeps attention on the livery and stops the setup from looking crowded.

Can I see my colour before ordering?

Yes. Use the configurator on the SIMGASM site to choose your rig type and colour or livery and see the result first.
