Yes, in most cases a SIMGASM Core seat fits other sim rigs too. The Core Bucket Racing Seat has a 360 x 385 mm bolt pattern for bottom mounting, and the Core Recline Seat has a 193 x 193 mm pattern under the base. With the right sliders or a matching bracket, both seats bolt onto most aluminium profile rigs and many other frames with an adjustable seat mount. The key is to measure your seat frame before you order.
Below you learn how to check the fit on your current rig, which parts you need and when a full SIMGASM setup makes more sense.
What decides if a seat fits a rig?
Three things decide the fit, and you check all of them with a tape measure.
The bolt pattern under the seat
Every seat has a set of threaded holes underneath. The distance between those holes, left to right and front to back, is the bolt pattern. The Core Bucket uses 360 x 385 mm. The Core Recline uses 193 x 193 mm, the square pattern found on most office chair mechanisms.
The seat mount on your rig
Most rigs carry the seat on two rails or a flat plate. Aluminium profile rigs use slotted profile, so you slide the mounting bolts to almost any width. Tube frame rigs often have fixed holes, which leaves less room to adjust.

Height and space
A seat also needs room behind it for the recline and enough height under the wheel deck for your legs. Measure from the seat frame to the underside of the wheel deck before you buy.
Does a Core seat fit Trak Racer, Playseat or Fanatec rigs?
These are the brands racers ask about most, so here is how each one usually works out.
Trak Racer and other profile rigs
Trak Racer and most other aluminium profile rigs have adjustable seat rails on slotted profile. A bottom mounted bucket with sliders usually lines up well. Recline seats often need an extra bracket that takes the office chair pattern, and Trak Racer sells universal brackets for recline seats and office chairs for exactly that. Johan Akkerman, founder and CEO of SIMGASM, worked at Trak Racer for years, rose to Chief Business Officer and was responsible for the design of the TRX seat. We know these rigs from the inside.
Playseat
Many Playseat models come with their own seat as part of the frame. Fitting a separate bucket seat therefore depends on the model, and on some models it is simply not possible. Our comparison of the Playseat Challenge and aluminium profile rigs explains where the limits are.
Fanatec CSL cockpit
The Fanatec CSL Cockpit is usually sold without a seat and uses its own seat brackets. Check the hole spacing on those brackets against your seat before you order. For a side by side view of these rigs, read how the SIMGASM Sport compares to Trak Racer, Playseat and the Fanatec CSL cockpit.

Which parts do you need to fit a Core seat?
A short parts list covers almost every install.
For the Core Bucket on a profile rig, a slider set is the cleanest solution. The SIMGASM Dual Locking Seat Slider Set is the recommended match, and the Universal Dual Locking Seat Slider Set covers universal installs. For the Core Recline on another rig, look for a bracket that takes the 193 x 193 mm office chair pattern. At a desk, the SIMGASM Office Chair Base turns the Core Recline into a racing inspired office chair.
Always use bolts of the right length. They need to grip enough thread without pressing into the seat. Start each bolt by hand and tighten the corners in a cross pattern.

When is a full SIMGASM rig the easier route?
Sometimes a matched set saves time, parts and doubt.
Both Core seats are natively compatible with the Hobby, Club, Sport and Pro cockpits, so there is no measuring and no bracket hunting. If your current frame flexes, or the seat rails only have fixed holes, an aluminium sim rig with slotted profile gives you far more freedom. Weight plays a role too: the light Core Bucket suits motion and small rooms, as we explain in is a heavier sim racing seat better.
For the build itself, use our Core seat assembly guide. Compare both seats on the Core seat page. SIMGASM develops its own hardware from its base in Wijk bij Duurstede, the Netherlands, and tests every product as part of a complete simulator.
Questions about fitting a Core seat on other rigs
Here are short answers to the questions we hear most about fitting a Core seat.
Does the Core Bucket fit a Trak Racer rig?
In most cases yes, with sliders on the slotted seat rails. Measure the rail spacing against the 360 x 385 mm pattern first.
Does the Core Recline need special brackets?
On a SIMGASM cockpit, no. On other rigs, use a bracket that matches the 193 x 193 mm office chair pattern.
Does a Core seat work at a desk?
Yes. The Core Recline fits the SIMGASM Office Chair Base, or you buy it ready as the Core Recline Office Chair.
Is a SIMGASM cockpit sold with a seat?
No. SIMGASM sells seats separately, so you choose the seat you want.
