Triple monitors are one of the best upgrades you can make in sim racing—when they’re aligned correctly. When they aren’t, you get:
- a visible “break” where screens meet,
- uneven bezels,
- eye strain, and
- constant temptation to re-adjust every session.

What “Vario VESA” style adjustment actually fixes
Standard VESA brackets often force you into a frustrating loop:
- Loosen bolts.
- Move monitor.
- Tighten bolts.
- Discover it shifted while tightening.
Micro-adjust mounts reduce that loop by letting you dial in alignment after the monitor is already supported. Typical Vario-style adjustment focuses on:
- Vertical micro-adjust (fine height matching between screens)
- Horizontal micro-adjust (pulling inner edges tight without forcing the stand to twist)
- Rotation micro-adjust (eliminating the “one corner sits higher” issue)

Before you touch a screw: set your reference position
Triple alignment is easier when your driving position is already “locked in”. Do this first:
- Seat height and recline set
- Wheel height and reach set
- Pedal distance set (stable heel point)

Step-by-step triple monitor alignment (works for any stand)
Step 1: Level and center the middle monitor
- Set the center monitor directly in front of the wheel center line.
- Set its height so your eye line lands around the upper third of the screen.
- Level the top edge (spirit level or a phone app).
Step 2: Set your distance and commit to it
Pick a distance that works with your room and cockpit, then keep it fixed. Changing distance later can undo good alignment (and changes FOV).

Step 3: Set side monitor angle (don’t chase perfection yet)
A common starting point is roughly 50–65 degrees per side, but the “right” angle is the one that points the screens toward your eyes and produces a clean bezel transition.
Step 4: Align the inner edges first
Bring the left and right monitors in until the inner edges line up with the center screen. Ignore the outer edges for now—your first goal is a clean center-to-side transition.
Step 5: Micro-adjust height and rotation
This is where Vario-style mounts save time. Adjust each side monitor so:
- the top edges are level,
- the inner corners meet cleanly without a “step”, and
- the bezel gaps are visually even.
Step 6: Tighten in sequence
Tighten bolts gradually, alternating between bolts so you don’t twist the bracket. After tightening, re-check the inner edges. Small shifts are normal—micro-adjust makes the final correction quick.
Integrated vs freestanding stands (and why it affects alignment)
Both can work brilliantly. Choose based on your plans:

Why do my triples look aligned in Windows but not in-game?
Because in-game projection and FOV settings change how straight lines appear across screens. Align the hardware first, then tune your in-game triple settings and FOV.
