How do you assemble the SIMGASM Club cockpit?

You assemble the SIMGASM Club cockpit in ten steps from the official assembly guide: rubber feet, end plates, seat frame plates, uprights, shifter arm, pedal deck, pedal deck mounting, brace plate, wheel mount and end caps. The assembly hardware and tools come in the box. The golden rule is simple: keep every bolt hand tight until the final alignment, and only then tighten everything.

Below you'll find the detailed assembly video for the SIMGASM Sport; the club video will be available soon and can then be found on our YouTube channel.

What do you need before you start?

A calm start saves you time later, so first check what is in the box and what you add yourself.

What comes in the box

The Club aluminium sim racing cockpit ships with the aluminium profiles, the structural chassis brackets, the wheel mount you picked at checkout, the assembly hardware and tools, a pair of white assembly gloves, the assembly guide and the Core side profile shifter and handbrake arm. Open one hardware bag at a time. That keeps M6 and M8 bolts from getting mixed up.

The video above shows the Sport build. The Club uses the same building logic with T nuts, corner brackets and slotted profiles, so it is a great visual reference while you follow the Club guide.

What you add yourself

The seat, the seat slider, the wheelbase, the steering wheel, the pedals and any shifter or handbrake are separate parts. Have them close by. You need the pedals and the seat to set the final positions, because the guide asks you to tighten the pedal deck and wheel support only after you know your seating position.

Steps 1 to 5: build the base frame

The first five steps create the base, the seat area and the uprights that carry your wheelbase.

Step 1 and 2: rubber feet and end plates

Slide one M6 T nut per foot into the two base profiles and fit the four rubber feet with M6 button head bolts. Keep the feet slightly inboard, so they do not stick out once the end plates are on. Then fit both end plates with the countersunk bolts. Start all bolts loosely first. The plate with the SIMGASM logo faces the front.

Step 3: seat frame plates

Place two T nuts per side in the top slots and mount the two cross brackets with M8x16 button head bolts. Leave them loose. Your seat bolt pattern and your leg length decide the final spot, so you fix them later.

Step 4: the uprights

The two 54 cm uprights go on with four corner brackets. The side with the most slots faces inward. Set both uprights square before you tighten them. A square frame is the base for a wheel deck that does not twist under force feedback.

Step 5: shifter arm

The 27 cm profile becomes your shifter and handbrake arm. You mount it left or right. Match its height to your seat and wheel later, so keep it loose for now.

Steps 6 to 10: pedal deck, brace plate and wheel mount

The second half of the build turns the frame into a cockpit that fits your body and your hardware.

Step 6 and 7: the pedal deck

Build the deck from two pedal brackets and three 40.7 cm profiles. Set the three profile positions to match the bolt holes of your pedals before final tightening. Then mount the deck to the frame. Set height and angle through the slots, and use at least three bolts per side. That detail matters, because the Club is rated for a braking load of 200 kg at the pedal deck. Read more about that number in our guide on pedal braking force.

Step 8: the brace plate

The brace plate links the uprights and sets the base height of your wheel. You flip it or mount it lower when you need more clearance for your knees or a deep dish wheel. It also works as a mounting point for a PC shelf add on.

Step 9: the wheel mount

Here you choose side, front or bottom mount for your wheelbase. For a side mount, bolt the side brackets to the motor first. Not sure which mount you need? Our guide on bottom, front or side mount explains the differences. After you set the final height and angle, retighten all eight upright bolts.

Step 10: end caps and final check

Press the three end caps in by hand. Do not tap them with a tool. Then do one last round over every bolt.

Tips that make your Club feel stiffer

These small habits come from years of building and testing rigs, and they make a real difference on track.

SIMGASM founder Johan Akkerman started sim racing in 2008 and once welded his own frame from used gas pipes. Later he helped develop the TRX chassis at Trak Racer. That background shows in the Club guide: build on a flat floor, keep hardware hand tight, align everything, and tighten in one final pass. Do not overtighten countersunk bolts. The guide mentions a regular power tool setting of 6 to 8 for the end plates.

Set the wheel height and angle last. Sit in the seat, hold the wheel with relaxed arms, and move the deck until your wrists rest on top of the rim. Every SIMGASM product is tested as part of a complete simulator, so the slots give you room for GT and more upright positions. Need help with space first? Questions about assembling the Club

These are the questions new Club owners ask most often during the build.

How long does it take to build the SIMGASM Club?

The guide gives no fixed time. Plan an afternoon for the frame and some extra time for the final fitting of seat, pedals and wheel, because you test and adjust while sitting in it.

Do you need your own tools?

No. The Club ships with assembly hardware and tools. A power tool speeds things up, but keep it on a low setting to avoid overtightening.

Why should bolts stay loose until the end?

Loose bolts let parts slide into their natural, square position. When you tighten everything at the end, the frame locks in straight and stays free of tension.

Which wheel mounts fit the Club?

The Club comes with a bottom mount, front mount, side mount or Asetek front mount. You pick the one that matches your wheelbase at checkout, and the compatibility table on the product page shows which models fit.
